“I Love My Dad” is a 2022 Comedy released by Magnolia Pictures. They acquired my company to create some graphics and garment designs for the movie premier at the South by Southwest Film Festival.

Playing of the family themed plot of the movie I created a font and layout that is reminiscent of things in a typical household like refrigerator magnets, and hand written notes. I wanted the designs to convey a playfulness and ironicalness inherent in the title so I made them purposefully crude and off-kilter in their layout. 

The frown-shaped arch on the first design is a nod to the estranged and burdened relationship between the main characters in the movie. 

Additionally, to make the designs feel like a movie poster I incorporated some of the movie’s information and festival logos within the layout.
