Detroit City FC is a professional soccer club based in Detroit. I designed original merchandise for them via my company SMPLFD. We did two drops with them consecutively. Sales ran through their website, and at the stadium merchandise booth.
My inspiration for each merch drop was drawn from a few sources. The football culture around the team and fans certainly played a roll in some of the phrases, and wordage I used in some of the designs. Other sources of inspiration came from city seals and iconography specific to Hamtramck, and Detroit.
